You constantly, wherever needed, mention that - 'Hey, I am your best girlfriend', 'oh yes, After all, thou art my best friend'; the trick is to make it sound funny, and being funny is actually the way you turn everything serious.
It's all about moving forward, because as I have told before, you are NOT the only one trying to woo her at the exact same time. There would be others, the trick is to stay calm, because if you lose your cool, you become exactly like them.
